Privacy Policy
1. Who we are
This website is operated by JT Coaching Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 13451482). Our registered address is Koba, 100 Barbirolli Square, Manchester M2 3AB.
You can contact us at: jack@thehunterbrain.com
2. What data we collect
When you sign up to the email list, we collect your email address and your first name. We do not collect sensitive personal data.
When you submit the form we also record the technical details that come with the request: your IP address, your browser's user agent string, and the page and referral source you arrived from, including any campaign tags in the link you clicked.
We set a first-party cookie holding a random visitor ID so we can count visits and sign-ups without identifying you personally. If you accept cookies on the banner, Meta's advertising cookies are also set.
We do not take payment details on this site.
3. Why we collect it
We collect your email address and first name to send you the content you signed up for: the daily email, plus updates and offers about The Hunter Brain. We will not send you unrelated marketing without your explicit consent.
The legal basis for sending you email is your consent (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(a)), which you give when you submit your email address through our forms.
We use the technical details above to measure which pages and campaigns are working. The legal basis for that basic measurement is our legitimate interest in understanding how the website performs (Article 6(1)(f)). Advertising cookies and the advertising sharing described below run on consent only.
4. How we store and process your data
Your email address and first name are stored and managed through Kit (formerly ConvertKit), our email service provider, which is based in the United States. Kit is covered by Standard Contractual Clauses. You can read their privacy policy at kit.com/privacy.
Sign-up records are also stored in our own database, hosted by Supabase, and the website itself is hosted by Vercel.
If you accept cookies, we share a limited set of sign-up data with Meta (Facebook and Instagram) so we can measure the performance of our advertising. Your email address is hashed before it is sent, meaning Meta receives a scrambled version rather than the address itself, alongside your IP address and browser user agent. If you decline cookies, nothing is sent to Meta.
Beyond that, we do not sell, rent or share your personal data with third parties for their own marketing.
5. How long we keep your data
We keep your data for as long as you stay subscribed to the email list. If you unsubscribe, your details are removed from the active mailing list.
You can ask us to delete your data entirely at any time by emailing us.
6. Your rights
Under UK and EU data protection law you have the right to request a copy of the data we hold about you, to have inaccurate data corrected, to have your data deleted, to restrict how we use it, to receive it in a portable format, and to object to processing carried out under legitimate interest.
You can withdraw consent at any time by clicking unsubscribe in any email, or by contacting us directly.
To exercise any of these rights, email jack@thehunterbrain.com and we will respond within 30 days.
7. Cookies
We use a first-party cookie to hold a random visitor ID, and a second one to remember your choice on the cookie banner. These are what let us count visits and sign-ups.
If you accept on the banner, Meta's advertising cookies are also set, and they are used to measure and target advertising. If you decline, they are never loaded, and we do not ask you again for a year.
8. Complaints
If you believe we have handled your personal data incorrectly, you have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
We would appreciate the chance to put it right first, so please email jack@thehunterbrain.com before you go to the regulator.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the date at the top of this page.
